Voice

Yuri Maria Saenz has sung on many of the world’s most prominent stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Hailed by the New York Times as “superbly fiery,” her career has brought her success in many roles including the Queen of the Night from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Gilda from Verdi’s Rigoletto, the title role in Lakme by De- libes, and the title role in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. She has also sung the roles of Morgana in Handel’s Alcina, Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Zerbinetta in R. Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, and Le Coq d’Or in Rimsky Korsakov’s Le Coq d’Or. The latter was also released on DVD for TDK with Kent Nagano conducting the Orchestre de Paris. Yuri is also an accomplished singer of sacred music having sung many times with the Orchestre du Chambre de Versailles in Theatre Montansier, Eglise de Jeanne d’Arc, and Festival d’El Jehm in Tunisia in works including Handel’s Messiah, Exsultate Jubilate and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore of Mozart, and numerous cantatas of J.S. Bach.
